How does a textile company with 2,000 party members go from 'a drop of oil to a piece of fabric' in 42 years? On April 29, at the 'Great Power Textile, New Journey' party-building and business integration conference held at People's Daily New Media Building, Hengshen Holding Group provided the answer: party-building is not just political guidance, but genuine productivity.
Background: A High-Level 'Industry Party-Building' Dialogue
This conference, co-hosted by Global People magazine and the China Textile Information Center, attracted representatives from 15 textile enterprises. The attendees covered the entire chain from chemical fiber, wool spinning, printing and dyeing, to fabrics and garments, including industry leaders such as Hengshen Holding, Youngor Worsted, Sanyuan Holding, and Dymatic Chemicals. The focus was on transforming the party's organizational advantages into industrial competitiveness, building momentum for the upcoming 15th Five-Year Plan.
Yan Yan, Vice President of the China National Textile and Apparel Council, clearly stated that the textile industry is now transitioning from following and running alongside global leaders to taking the lead. This assessment is backed by continuous breakthroughs in technology, fashion, green practices, and health. Notably, the choice of a central media venue for this meeting signals that the industry narrative is shifting from 'factory floors' to 'national discourse.'
Industry Impact: How Party-Building Becomes a 'Competitive Moat'
From the sharing of participating companies, three clear pathways for party-building empowerment emerge.
First is 'organizational strength driving innovation.' Sanyuan Holding has built strong party branches across all 13 subsidiaries, with management leading party membership, resulting in 189 invention patents. Its industrial wastewater recycling project has been promoted by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. This proves that party-building is not 'empty work' but helps companies tackle common technical challenges like environmental protection through centralized decision-making and resource integration.
Second is the 'accelerator for green transformation.' Hengshen Holding is building a zero-carbon industrial park, advancing wind and solar renewable energy utilization; Shumei Knitting has invested billions in a 'future factory' with zero-carbon and intelligent features. Behind these investments, party-building mechanisms like pioneer posts and technical breakthrough teams act as 'propellers' for project implementation.
Third is the 'credit endorsement for brand premiumization.' Xingmao Zhishang, specializing in tweed fabrics, collaborates with international luxury brands. Its breakthroughs in nano-coating and digital fabric labs rely on the 'long-termism' fostered by party leadership. Shepherd Clothing's independent development of NAO virtual weaving technology and smart factory construction also uses party-building as the 'ballast stone' for digital transformation.
These cases reveal a deep logic: amid challenges like overcapacity, thin margins, and trade barriers, party-building is becoming an 'institutional guarantee' for companies to resist short-term temptations and persist in technological investment.
